Poetry: Benediction

BENEDICTION by The Wordslayer

If I wrote one last time,

And my ink became illegible,

And my words forever silenced,

My life a memory and my feelings detached,

My mind clouded in high skies,

And I float precariously in unknown vastness,

Let not my absence be mourned ,

Let this last forge be immortal,

May my words live forever in eyes that saw,

And ring for eternity in minds that understood,

And have an everlasting throb in hearts that felt,

May I be the small window in the isolation cube to bring light, So captives of the world can feel freedom,

May I be the light at dawn, to give rise to new hopes and dreams,

May I be the hope for the youth, to give them energy to fight on,

May I be the hope at midnight, shining next to the moon like stars,

Look up to the sky and see exactly where I am,

If I should die today then let this be my last essay,

If I should die today then let me touch the blue skies,

If I should die today Lord let this be my last essay
